Shortlist revealed for the Young Energy Professionals Forum Awards 2017
Following a record number of applications, the shortlist for this year’s Young Energy Professionals Forum Awards has been released by Energy UK today.
Energy UK’s Young Energy Professionals Forum drives the development of young people across the whole industry. The network established in 2013, provides opportunities to collaborate, improve and recognise success through topical events, access to industry leaders and site visits. The Forum now has over 1,450 members, spanning 270 different companies.
In the past two months, we have received an excellent standard of applications and all of the judges illustrated the difficulties they faced in creating the shortlist you see today. They will recognise those who have made that extra difference to both the industry and their organisation.
A record number of applications were received for the awards which this year includes a new category of Academic Achievement. The awards take place on the 6 July and will be hosted by Jillian Ambrose, Energy Reporter from the Telegraph and will feature a keynote speech from Denise Massey, Managing Director of the Energy Innovation Centre.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK said:
“The standard of applicants this year is exceptionally high, showcasing the rich pool of talent we have coming through right across the energy industry. We are proud to recognise the successes of young professionals – and wish good luck to all those shortlisted.”
Stephen Lambert, UK head of energy at EY & Judge of the EY YEP of the Year Award, said:
“This year’s candidates for the YEP Awards have been of an exceptionally high standard. I’m delighted that the final shortlist represents such a diverse mix of pioneering young professionals who have all demonstrated such drive and desire to succeed. They represent the very best and most talented of the industry’s next generation.”
